Judith “Judy” Whitehead, 77, of Washington Township, passed away March 20, 2025 surrounded by her family after fighting Parkinson’s Disease and dementia for many years. Judy was born March 9, 1948 in Dayton, Ohio to Tom and Maxine Leen. On February 6, 1970 she married her husband of 55 years, Larry, and together they raised two caring daughters and loved spending time with their five amazing grandchildren. Judy was a devoted wife, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend, who brought creativity, warmth, and joy to everyone who knew her. An accomplished artist and the owner of Lamplighter Frames, she had an incredible eye for beauty and detail – not only in her work but in the home and landscape she so lovingly maintained. Judy’s energy was boundless; she was always busy, always creating, and always making life more beautiful. She adored her husband, her daughters, and her grandchildren, cherishing summers spent together at Indian Lake, where laughter and love filled every moment. Her passion, dedication, and fun-loving spirit will be deeply missed. Her grandchildren will forever love and miss their Mimi, carrying her warmth and wisdom in their hearts always. In addition to her husband, Larry, she is survived by her two daughters, Alissa (Brian) Gantt and Molly (Jason) Holt; five grandchildren, Connor and Lindsey Gantt, and Parker, Noah and Drew Holt; loving sister Mary Young; and sister-in-law Judy Leen; as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family and dear friends. Judy was preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Maxine Leen; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Clyde and Josephine Whitehead; brother, Thomas Leen; and brothers-in-law, David Young and Gerald Whitehead; and sister-in-law, Saundra Whitehead. Family and Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 4, 2025 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 4500 Ackerman Blvd., Kettering, Ohio 45429, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Inurnment at David’s Cemetery, Kettering, Ohio.
