November 13, 1946 — January 14, 2025
Kettering
Nawal Halabi, a woman of boundless love, grace, and kindness, peacefully entered eternal rest on January 14, 2025, in Alexandria, Virginia, with her devoted children by her side. Born on November 13, 1946, in Beirut, Lebanon, Nawal was a shining light whose warmth touched everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Nawal’s life was a beautiful reflection of love and dedication. She had a special way of making those around her feel cherished, whether through her nurturing spirit, her unforgettable meals, or the joy she brought to family gatherings. Her home was always filled with laughter, the aroma of her delicious cooking, and the comfort of her embrace-a true sanctuary of love.
Nawal was predeceased by her beloved son, Rony, whose memory continues to shine through his family. Her legacy of compassion and generosity will live on through her loving children: Wissam Halabi and his wife Roula, Micheline Halabi, and Rabih Halabi, as well as her cherished daughter-in-law Christine Antoun Taamneh. Her unwavering love also blessed her seven grandchildren, Samir and Serahj (Rony and Christine’s children), Sharelle and Alessandro (Wissam and Roula’s children), and Jennifer, Nadeem, and Jessica (Micheline’s children), who will forever hold dear the countless memories they created with their grandmother.
She now reunites in heaven with her beloved parents, Jamil G. and Chafica E. Daoud, her husband, Samir Halabi, and her son, Rony Halabi. Though her earthly presence is deeply missed, their reunion is a source of solace to all who loved her.
As a sister and aunt, Nawal’s heart extended far and wide. Her siblings-Nouhad Almarji, Salime Antoun, George Daoud, Elias Daoud, Joseph Daoud, Raymond Daoud, Samira Eid, and Renee Eid-and their families will forever treasure her gentle spirit, just as countless nieces and nephews carry forward her legacy of love.
Friends and family are invited to honor Nawal’s extraordinary life during a visitation on Saturday, January 25, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St. Ignatius of Antioch Maronite Catholic Church, located at 50 Nutt Road in Dayton, Ohio. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 AM, with interment at David's Cemetery in Dayton. A mercy meal celebrating her life will be held at the church following the services.
To honor Nawal’s memory, the family kindly requests donations be made to the church she held dear.
Nawal Halabi leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and selflessness. Her life was a testament to the power of kindness and the strength of family bonds. Though she is no longer with us, her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
