Obituary

Robert Miles “Bob” Reynolds of Dayton (45) was last seen August 24, 2024. He was in good spirits and looking forward to the future. While the circumstances are uncertain, Bob is believed to have passed on that day as the family awaits the final report from the Montgomery County Coroner. Bob was born in Dallas, Texas on October 13, 1978 to Perry and Joan (Hedrick) Reynolds. He is also survived by one brother, Perry III (Carly) two nephews, a niece, and a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Bob attended Smith Elementary in Oakwood, Bellbrook High School, and Interlochen Arts Academy in Michigan during his Senior year. He earned a bachelor’s cum laude from Berklee College of Music in Boston.

He was a composer and outstanding percussionist. He sometimes performed marimba at El Mason restaurant when he was only in high school. He performed with various groups including the Army Band at Ft. Lewis, WA, serving his country in the U.S. Army from 2004 to 2005. He also performed with the British Brass Band of Dayton, Ohio. In addition to composing a large volume of musical compositions, Bob worked at Penn Station in Bellbrook, Ohio for many years. The proprietor says that he was particularly helpful during the Covid Crisis as frequently the two of them ran the restaurant alone.

The Bible was Bob’s favorite book. He had an amazing memory and understanding of God’s Word and plan for mankind. He was an avid reader and read a great deal of theology and philosophy. As a young boy he asked Jesus into his heart to forgive him of his sins. He had his mother write these words in a little Bible that he cherished, “God took my sin and threw in it into the wind pool of infinity.” In his adult years he rededicated his life to Christ. He had many struggles in this life, but we will remember the beautiful moments as well. While we may not know all the details of his passing, we know that the gifts and calling of God are irrevocable (Romans 11:29). Bob placed his trust in Jesus Christ, and we trust in the promise that God, who called him, remains faithful.

The family is planning a memorial which will be announced at a later time. Thank you for your prayerful support.
