Kenneth P. (Bud) Werner, age 90, peacefully passed away on February 5, 2025 in Naples, Florida. Bud was born in Dayton, Ohio on December 4, 1934 to the late Aloysius and Florence Werner. Bud is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 62 years, Norinne, and by his sisters Eileen, Delores, and Shirley, and by Bob Silverii.
Bud is survived by his children Kathleen (Jonathan), James (Anita), Susan, Karen (David), and Melissa (Glenn); Grandchildren Nicole, Kenny, Krista, Andy, Bobby, Alysa, Jordan, Zak, Grace, Madison and Jack; Great Grandchildren Grady, Kaden, JJ, Mac, Paxon, James, Jacob, Charlie, Hazel, Holland, Bo, and Ira and by his sisters Alice and Patricia (Michael) and his brother Robert (Sandy).
Bud graduated from Chaminade High School in 1952 and studied architectural design at the University of Dayton. He was a successful business owner for many years. Bud was a competitive tennis player and won many singles and doubles tournaments. From the 1990's to 2021 he was the Director of Tennis at the Village Walk community in Naples, Florida where he taught countless people how to play tennis, improve their skills, and increase their enjoyment of the game.
With his wife Norinne, Bud tirelessly volunteered for many years to raise funds for the non-profit Tim and Tom Gullikson Foundation that awarded college scholarships to survivors of brain cancer, and he also served on the foundation's Scholarship Selection Committee.
Bud was a devoted Catholic throughout his life. As a child, he was part of Holy Angels Catholic Church and grade school in Dayton, Ohio, and as an adult, Bud was an active member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Kettering, Ohio and Saint John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Naples, Florida.
Bud was loved by many people and will be greatly missed.
Funeral services will take place in Kettering, Ohio.
