Obituary

POLEN, James R. of Bellbrook, OH passed away March 22, 2025.

Jim was the 4th of 6 children born to Bob and Julia Polen on November 28, 1950, in Dayton, OH. He was a Christian and a member of Resurrection Evangelical. Lutheran Church in Centerville, OH. Jim graduated in the Class of 1968 from Wilbur Wright High School in Dayton, OH. He was a U.S Navy Vietnam veteran, serving as an Aviation Electrician's Mate 2nd Class during two deployments. He worked 32 years as a Journeyman Wireman for IBEW Local 82 in Dayton, OH, and retired in 2008 while employed at High Voltage Maintenance Corp.

Jim married his high school sweetheart, Carol Ann (Howard) Polen, in 1969, and together they had one son, Jimmy, and later, a daughter-in-law, Mandy, and two granddaughters, Kendall and Caroline, all of Bellbrook, OH. He is preceded in death by his mother, father, infant brother, Gerald, and two sisters, Barbara and Kathy. In addition to his immediate family, Jim is also survived by one sister, Becky of Columbus, OH, and one brother, John of Chicago, IL.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Saturday, April 5th, at Resurrection Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1315 E Alex Bell Rd, Centerville, Ohio, with service immediately following visitation.
