Obituary

Michael William Kline, 78, of Centerville, Ohio passed away on March 30, 2024 in Dayton at Miami Valley Hospital. Mike was born to the late Jack and Frances Kline in Dayton, Ohio on November 16, 1945. He graduated from Colonel White High School in 1964 and the Ohio State University in 1968. Mike worked for over 30 years as a dedicated teacher, coach, and administrator in the Kettering City Schools. He married Sandra Garwood in 1969. They were married for 54 years until her passing in 2023. Mike loved history, traveling, gardening, cheering for Ohio State football, and supporting his grandchildren in all their endeavors. He is survived by his daughters, Gina (Steve) Gentile and Nicole (Chris) Wimsatt, grandchildren Jake (Tessa) Gentile, Tyler Gentile, Evan Gentile, Braden Wimsatt, and Caroline Wimsatt, great-grandchildren Mia Gentile and Luke Gentile, his niece Mary (Dave) Stephen, his nephew Eric Neal, and many friends. He is preceded in death by his wife Sandee, his parents, his sister Jacqueline Kline, and nephew Shane Neal. A gathering of family and friends will be held at Tobias Funeral Home, 5471 Far Hills Avenue, will be held Friday, April 12, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. with a celebration of Mike's life at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at David’s Cemetery, Kettering, Ohio.
