David "Pooch" Lee Francis, 72, of Dayton, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 16, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. A devoted son, brother, and uncle, David will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Born in Dayton, David was a quiet and kind soul who cherished his family above all else. He was known for his generous spirit, always willing to lend a helping hand or offer a listening ear to those in need. David’s love for his family was boundless, and he took great pride in his role as a brother and uncle, offering support and guidance with a loving heart.

David lived his life with dignity and grace, devoted to the Lord Jesus Christ, leaving a lasting impact on the many lives he touched. His gentle nature, deep sense of loyalty, and unwavering dedication to his family will be remembered fondly by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

He cherished many passions such as visiting family in Kentucky, the beach, and watching hockey and baseball. He loved spending time with his dad going to drag races and fishing. He also loved listening to his favorite band, the Beach Boys.

Preceded in death by his parents, Omer and Myrtle Francis, sister, Sharon Atwood-Henderson, and niece, Andrea Atwood-Rhodes. He is survived by his sister, Teresa Lowrey, nephews, Danny Atwood (Christine) and Brent Atwood (Carey), niece Heather Lamm (Kurt), his great nieces and nephews (Bradyn, Abagail, Alexis, Madeline, Aubrey, Addilyn, and Matthew) and extended family, all of whom will carry his memory with them forever. His legacy of love and kindness will live on through those who loved him.

A visitation for David will be held on Thursday, March 27, 2025 from 11:00am to 12:00pm at Tobias Funeral Home in Beavercreek, with a funeral service at 12:00pm. Following the funeral service, burial will take place at David's Cemetery.
