Obituary of George Richard Karkalik
IN THE CARE OF
Tobias Funeral Home - Far Hills Chapel
George R. Karkalik of Centerville, Ohio passed away surrounded by family and friends at the age of 71 on June 20, 2024 at Hospice of Dayton after a battle with cancer.
He is preceded in death by his parents George and Dorothy of Mansfield, Ohio and sister Pamela. He is survived by his wife Pam of fifty-one years, their son Joshua, wife Anastasia and grandson Brayden; daughter Jennifer, husband Will, grandchildren Annelise and Ethan; sister Darlene, husband Tom; brother Mark, wife Michelle and their families.

George retired from his work as a machinist for Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in 2016 after a career working for Advanced Machinery and Thaler Machine over the years. He enjoyed music, could play the drums, guitar and even built his own acoustic guitar. His grandchildren were the joy of his life, and he wore his “Papa” shirts proudly while watching them grow up. He was proud of and loved his children dearly and their spouses. George became a Christian in 1976. In 1978 George and Pam moved to Dayton, Ohio from the Mansfield area where George grew up. They became members of Christ’s Church at that time, stayed there until the present and cherish the friendships at their church.

There is not enough time or space to mention all the special memories of friends and family. In the last years in George’s declining health he always mentioned how much he appreciated what the Lord had given him in family and friends.

There will be a Funeral Service on July 2, 2024 at 11:00 am at David’s Cemetery Chapel in Kettering, Ohio. Afterwards, there will be refreshments and fellowship for friends and family at David’s Cemetery Community Mausoleum Gathering Room. If you are able to attend please stay to visit because as never before we realize how precious our family and friends are to us.
