Obituary

DODSON, Shirley A. (Richardson) age 87 of Kettering, passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2024 at 10 Wilmington Place where she lived with her husband Henry. Shirley was born July 14th, 1936 in Dayton Ohio to the late Jess A. and Martha M. (Snider) Richardson. Shirley was a 1954 graduate of Roosevelt High School. For several years she was a bus driver for the Kettering City Schools, and she was also a Manager at Elder Beermans. She got married on September 18, 1954, and is survived by her husband of almost 70 years, Henry “Hank” Dodson. She is also survived by her loving daughter Kim and her husband Mike Wright of Dripping Springs, TX and their sons Corey and Jacob Wright of Chicago, a devoted son Randy Dodson of Kettering, and his daughter Rachel Dodson-Stern and her husband Alex of Miamisburg and also survived by her brother in-law, Sam Dodson and sister in-law Lynne Dodson of Centerville. Private graveside services will be held at a later date at David's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Life Connections of Kettering Ohio, Alzheimer's Association, Dayton Chapter or Shriners Children’s Ohio in Dayton.
