Obituary

Helen L. Garey, age 107 of Centerville, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 16, 2024, at Bethany Lutheran Village, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on June 10, 1917, in Portsmouth, Ohio, the daughter of the late Oakley & Bertha (Storer) Spriggs.

Mrs. Garey was a retired Social Services employee for the State of Indiana with 26 years of service, and she was a member of Miami Shores Baptist Church.

Preceded in death by her children Edward Garey, Richard Garey, Ramona Vosler and Joyce Huelsman, her 2 sons-in-law Robert Huelsman & Jerry Vosler, her daughter-in-law Kay Garey, her granddaughter Lisa Huelsman, her grandson Keith Huelsman, 3 brothers Louis, Jim & Wayne Spriggs, and by her sister Leota Lane.

She is survived by her grandchildren Pam Carpenter, Gregg Vosler (Tracey), Brad Vosler (Paula), Kevin Huelsman (Patrice), Lynn Hamblett, Jeff Garey, Mike Garey, Tim Garey, Mark Garey, and Angie Garey, numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Private Services will be held at David’s Cemetery in Kettering. Arrangements entrusted to the Swart Funeral Home, West Carrollton. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to SICSA Pet Adoption and Wellness Center, 8172 Washington Church Rd., Dayton, Ohio 45458 in memory of Mrs. Helen L. Garey.
