Denis Benjamin Jacob Gerald
1983 - 2023
In loving memory of Denis Benjamin Jacob Gerald, who passed away on August 25, 2023. He was a cherished 40 years old, born on January 17th, 1983, in Kaiserslautern, Germany. Denis's presence enriched the lives of all who had the privilege to know him. Though he was quiet he was a jokester, mischievous as a toddler, an avid video game player and football fan, specifically the Bengals and Michigan. He was an amazing son, devoted father, caring brother, and funny uncle along with being loved by countless others. He will be dearly missed and forever remembered but we know he is looking down on us with his Oma as they laugh together playing a game of rummy. There are no words that will ever truly encapsulate how deeply he is missed and loved.

Denis is survived by his daughter, Arianna Jacob; parents, Stephanie and Christopher Gerald; sisters, Saskia (Saidou) Sy, Chauntel Gerald; niece, Simone Sy; former wife, Joan Locke; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins in Germany: Rüdiger and Larissa Jacob, Jutta and Waldemar Grad, Vera and Herbert Weiss, Micheal and Dagmar Jacob, Anja Jacob, Sascha Jacob and Ramona Diehl, Linda Gehres, Astrid Jacob, Dirk Grad and family, Melanie Jacob, Nadine Jacob - Deubert and Timo Deubert, Kerstin Jacob and family, Christopher Bohnstedt, Stefanie Luig and family, Melissa Bohnstedt, Dorian Gehres, Lily Jacob, and Matteo Gehres. Denis is also survived by grandma, Creola Gerald; grandpa, Henry Gerald; and many other aunts, uncles, and cousins in surrounding states.

He is preceded in death by his oma, Margarethe Jacob and opa, Winfried Jacob.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 8, 2023 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at Newcomer Centerville Chapel (820 Miamisburg-Centerville Rd., Dayton, Ohio 45459). Funeral service will begin at 12:00 pm. Inurnment will follow in David's Cemetery, with military honors.

In lieu of flowers, Denis's family is creating a trust in Arianna’s name. If you would like to donate, please contact the family or the funeral home for guidance.
